The furnace starts with a huge 36"
metal tube - 3/8" thick!
NO OTHER MANUFACTURER builds one THIS
THICK!
|
|
Front and rear plates are added
with cutouts for the loading door and ash tray. The chimney is then installed
and the firebox is welded in place.
|
|
|
A floor is welded inside the firebox and
the removable grate is added. The grate is 3/4" thick! Note the air supply at the back.
|
|
After the water jacket is welded in place,
a frame is built around the entire assembly to support it and make a place
to hang the siding and to support the roof.
The
hot water heater coil is put in place.
The doors are hung by welding the
hinges on.
|
|
|
The rear access door is framed.
Note the plumbing coming through the back wall, which was welded in place at
this point.
The R-11 vinyl backed, fiberglass insulation is then put into place on top of
the aluminum backed Solar Guard insulation.
(Total R58 in the roof and R21.6 in the walls.)
We don't use the hardboard insulation
shown here.

|
All plumbing, the hot water coil, the fill valve (not seen)
and drain have been installed along with part of the circuitry. All furnaces
come with one pump. There is an additional spot for a 2nd optional pump, as shown here.
